Web & Graphic Design

Hey! Nice to meet you.

I’m a highly organized digital designer with 4 years experience designing websites and optimizing eCommerce stores. I’m well-versed in the Adobe Creative Suite, UX best practices, and managing a design process from start to finish.

After 15+ years of working in professional kitchens and organic farms, I taught myself to code and design websites out of my own desire to market my food business. I specialize in designing for food, CPG, and lifestyle brands.

Karie in the woods

Primary Skills

Karie's multifaceted professional skill set includes creating polished product packaging, expert visual assets, engaging copywriting, and masterful web designs. Her expertise was pivotal to the overall user experience for SWB’s retail and wholesale customers. On numerous occasions, Karie took initiative to meet narrow deadlines for critical marketing projects. Karie's hardworking, positive, "can-do" nature, supported by her accomplished professional skills make her an absolute joy to work with and a true asset to any team.

On a Personal Note

I realize culture fit can be just as important as experience, so here’s some personal tidbits so you can get to know me a little better.

  • My biggest passion is traveling the world. Currently, I’ve visited 16 countries and counting. My favorite country so far? Nicaragua.
  • I live for food. You can find me doing things like foraging for mushrooms in the woods, making wedding cakes for my favorite people, canning tomatoes, and mixing my own bitters.
  • I’m a recovering awkward person and introvert, but I love me some karaoke.
  • I grew up in Seattle and have moved at least 19 times. I’ve lived in lots of different structures, including a treehouse with gravity-fed creek water, a trailer in the middle of a chicken pasture, and a cabin in the woods with a composting toilet.
  • I read business and marketing books. For fun.
  • When I was young, I was constantly doodling, drawing, and writing but I unfortunately bought into the idea that you can’t make money in the arts. A couple decades (and a lot of life choices) later, I proved myself wrong. I’m so honored to be a part of this wonderful, challenging, creative career path.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my portfolio! Hope to hear from you soon.
